August 6th  8.20pm Hiroshima and Nagasaki Commemoration

For the past 25 years the Kent Justice & Peace Group have organised a commemoration service at Aylesford Priory to mark the anniversary of the dropping of the first atomic bomb in 1945.  These two events are the only active deployments of nuclear weapons in war, so far. 

Refreshments will be available after the Service.   All are Welcome

August 6th  UNA Deal will hold an event to commemorate Hiroshima

Led by the Mayor of Deal, Cllr Ben Bano this event, which will comprise music, readings, poems and personal statements, will take place from 10.30am to 11am at St Georges Churchyard, St Georges Church, High Street, Deal Kent  CT14 6ED. Contact: Pam Brivio at pambrivio@btinternet.com

4pm Gathering at Friends House, Euston Road, London to visit Hiroshima  
  Exhibition. Followed by vigil in Friends House Garden
5pm - 6.30 walk to Westminster Cathedral. 
6.30 Annual Franz Jägerstätter Commemoration Service, London in the Crypt
  Chapel, Westminster Cathedral (via car park, behind Cathedral)
Followed by interfaith peace walk to Battersea Peace Pagoda for Nagasaki
